Simul by Johanna Paasikangas

Lauttasaari chess club organized a simultaneous exhibition (mainly) for beginners at Lauttasaari library on 25.4.2026. Playing as White, FIDE Master and Women's Finnish Champion 2026 Johanna Paasikangas (Etelä-Vantaan Shakki) won all the 9 games.

The shortest game lasted 40 minutes (16 moves), most others less than 1 hour and 40 minutes, and the longest two 2 hours and 30 minutes (68 moves).

4 participants had played no rated games, 2 had played 10, and 3 some 30–60 rated games in the last 2 years.

We will have a joint analysis session of the games at the library on Monday, 27.4.2026, at 17–20.

The next simul is planned to be played in the fall 2026.

Helsinki Team Rapid 2026 (M Group)

Helsinki Team Rapid (M Group) was played at Shakkiareena on 13.4.2026.

Our match points were 8/14, game points 23½/42:

After Gambiitti, EtVaS and KäpSK, we came the 4th, which is our best result ever. Moreover, we were only half a game point behind KäpSK.

LauttSSK 2 will play in the A group on 16.4., and LauttSSK 3 in the B group on 20.4.
