LauttSSK came 10th out of 16 teams, with a steady 50% or thereabouts performance. Our team came out and did their usual thing - winning a few, blundering a few, some time scrambles, some gracious moments. You know how it is.

Despite ending up in the bottom 2, I have to say how impressed I was by the young EtVas 4 team. The youngsters there (Eino P, Pessi H, Kristian K, Niklas P) were very impressive considering their age.
Individual performance
1. Seppo Aakio (2137) 6,5/15 (perf: 2054)
2. Ashwin Kumar (2101) 8,5 (perf: 2095)
3. Pekka Kauppala (1965) 7,5 (perf: 1983)
4. Tero Lehtinen (1958) 7,5 (perf: 1842)
Seppo was his usual self, consistently beating strong opponents and securing a few draws along the way to end up with yet another solid score.
I had a pretty topsy turvy tournament, losing against the lower rated players and beating some of the higher rated players. I was sure today was going to be the day that Tero Kokkila finally broke the curse against me (3 games 3 losses). He had me on the run, but somehow messed it up, allowing my lucky streak against him to continue. I also earned a draw against Joose Norri and feel pretty good about that.
Pekka had a challenging start, but made sure he finished on an excellent note with 4 consecutive wins to ensure that the team retained their position. Notable win against Kim Kåhre!
Tero stepped in to substitute Jyrki who was ill and he did not disappoint. Despite a rocky start, he hung in there and won some crucial games for the team, particularly during the final 3 games to make sure he pulled the team over the finish line.
