The Lauttasaari Spring cup (rapid time control) started with 21 players.
All the matches in the 4 preliminary groups must be played by the end of April. Top 2 of each group will qualify for the cup of 8 players, to be played by the end of June.
Each pair agrees together when and where to play their match. The player who is mentioned first in the pairing table (see Rounds of the preliminary groups in the cup rules) must contact her opponent.
Everybody plays 4–5 matches in 15 weeks, so it's good to send the first invitations immediately. Tournament director Janne Kauppinen will send the contact details to each group.
The rating used in calculating time handicap is the average of the player's classical rating and blitz rating.
